Meet the Maker
Stacey Windsor is our resident artist, her studio runs just behind the shop front and if you have been in the store you have probably met her.
Stacey is a mixed media artist originally born on the warm East Coast of South Africa. Growing up in a coastal city by the Indian Ocean she has strong ties to the seaside and being outdoors. She lived in Durban, KwaZulu Natal until 2004. She then travelled back and forth between the UK and South Africa, settling permanently in the UK in 2013 with her husband and children.
From an early age she spent much of her time drawing and painting and is currently studying a Fine Art Degree with OCA to broaden her artistic practice. She also enjoys photography, growing her own produce, exploring the UK coastline and travelling abroad. Aside from her two home countries she has visited France, Germany, Greece, Mainland Mozambique and the Portuguese Islands of Mozambique. She feels most content on a sun soaked beach and draws inspiration from the landscape and exciting colour palettes. Her work is intended to evoke a sense of wanderlust and appreciation of the natural world.

Megan Hall - Flotsam Prints
Printmaker Megan is based out of her peaceful studio in Devon, England. She specialises in linocut and is particularly drawn to the process of reduction prints, a method whereby the artist carves away portions of the lino, printing the block at intervals, and layering the colours one by one. It is through this process that Megan has developed her distinctive style, combining clean lines and silhouettes with colours taken straight from nature
Influenced by the natural world and her place within it, Megan strives to depict the emotions she feels in each moment of inspiration. The feeling of joy, both quiet and exultant, is the prevalent emotion she feels when connecting with nature, along with a sense of stillness, of being at peace. Never are these feelings greater than when in the water. Megan is particularly inspired by her frequent outdoor swimming adventures which are her greatest muse. In fact, she credits cold water with re-igniting her creative flame after a seven-year career break, stating ‘I owe everything to the water’
Stephanie Read - Floral Rebellion
Steph is mostly based on the Wiltshire/Hampshire boarder between Salisbury and Andover, but sometimes on the Kennet and Avon canal from their Narrow Boat. She is a Mother Nature loving florist with a wild and natural style. Steph crafts bespoke floral bouquets and arrangements as gifts and for weddings, but has a particular passion for funeral flowers.
Steph is also a willow weaver making items for the home and garden including baskets, bird feeders, dragonflies and obelisks (to name just a few) all from Somerset willow. You can find her throughout the year at fetes, fayres, markets across the South, but she is also a Roving Trader selling her crafts from the canal tow paths.
With a background in the education sector, Steph loves sharing her skills and teaches workshops throughout the year in both willow weaving and floristry. Her workshops are always relaxed, fun and there is always a warm welcome, cuppa and slice of yummy cake too.
